Placemaking Norway is an association that works to promote placemaking in Norway. We are part of a global network of placemakers.
As we recently established the association, through our national network, we are looking into creating a common shared knowledge of initiatives and projects around Norway.
The association promotes placemaking - that is, the development of places and projects in public space that create vibrant cities and communities with room for participation, community and belonging.
The aim is to contribute to increased quality of life and active participation for people of all ages, and to develop residential areas and local communities that are characterized by security, community and functional design.
We want Placemaking Norway to focus on community empowerment, arts, sustainability, and using placemaking to strengthen “the commons”, participation, and democracy.
Give visibility to the approach, by sharing knowledge on the perspectives, tools, and methods.
Organise events to exchange knowledge as a network, learn, present, and get involved as a community.
Create material, and share experiences and case studies to showcase the values and effects.
Grow as a local and regional network with the Nordics, as well as global.
